Hi, we’re Gravie. Our mission is to improve the way people purchase and access healthcare through innovative, consumer-centric health benefit solutions that people can actually use. Our industry-changing products and services are developed and delivered by a diverse group of unique people. We encourage you to be your authentic self - we like you that way.
A Little More About this Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Claims Systems Analyst to support our Health Plan Administration function. As a subject matter expert on our claims processing system (Javelina) and its associated vendor integrations, you will lead workstreams within large-scale, technically complex projects. You’ll oversee the seamless implementation and rigorous testing of system changes across vendor platforms, ensuring alignment with internal systems, data integrity, and compliance with performance metrics. Additionally, you will design and manage a comprehensive issue and defect management framework, including request prioritization, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting, to optimize system functionality and mitigate risks.
You will:
  • Act as a technical leader for the Javelina platform, making key architectural decisions and designing scalable solutions that integrate seamlessly with other systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on vendor platforms and business processes, delivering strategic guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into effective system solutions aligned with organizational needs and enterprise standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user manuals, and desk-level guides.
  • Support strategic projects, providing gap analysis, defining system requirements and leading user acceptance testing.
  • Monitor and maintain vendor platform functionality, ensuring performance aligns with platform KPIs and organizational SLAs.
  • Design and manage a repeatable release management framework for vendor platforms, ensuring consistent deployment and change control practices.
  • Build strong vendor relationships during implementation by establishing issue management, invoice reconciliation, and SLA monitoring frameworks; transition vendor ownership to appropriate HPA team members when appropriate
  • Facilitate internal user groups and gather stakeholder feedback on platform usability, accessibility, effectiveness, and system compatibility.
  • Demonstrate commitment to our core competencies of being authentic, curious, creative, empathetic and outcome oriented.
You bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Deep technical and functional knowledge of Javelina
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis and/or product management within the healthcare industry
  • Advanced subject matter expertise in end-to-end claim adjudication processes and systems
  • Proven track record of supporting complex, multi-layered processes and projects
  • Strong ability to analyze complex requirements and design scalable, maintainable system solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience facilitating user groups and gathering cross-functional feedback
  • Outstanding analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating detailed reports and delivering presentations
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities
Extra credit:
  • Previous start up company experience
  • Stop Loss experience
  • Business Analyst or Product Owner certification
  • Project Management and/or Scrum Master Certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification

We're on a mission to build a health plan everyone can love. It all began with an observation: health benefits often don't actually benefit consumers, especially when it comes to small and midsize businesses. We founded Gravie in 2013 on the belief that everyone deserves the care, guidance, and financial support they need to lead healthy lives. We're here to create health benefits that are as good as they sound – for employers, employees, and brokers alike. We're redefining health benefits in the small and midsize markets with an innovative approach to group health plans and Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRAs). Our focus is on unique plan design, enhanced support, and better cost predictability. We're proud to have improved health benefits for over 3,000 employers and nearly 200,000 individuals. Our work is backed by strong venture capital investors who share our vision.

Our flagship product, Comfort®, is a first-of-its-kind health plan that provides 100% coverage on most common healthcare services. This includes preventive care, primary care, mental health care, specialty care, urgent care, physical therapy, virtual services, and more. We want to empower our members to get the care they need to live their healthiest lives. We partner with industry leaders to deliver the best possible services, including virtual health and wellness through providers like Sword Thrive and Teladoc. For employers seeking a sustainable and affordable alternative to traditional group health plans, our Gravie ICHRA™ solution allows them to provide tax-advantaged contributions that employees can use to purchase coverage on the individual market. This means more cost certainty for employers and greater flexibility for employees. We're not just about providing plans; we offer consultative services to ensure our solutions meet unique needs. We're committed to being at the forefront of driving change and improving the healthcare industry by creating innovative, consumer-centric health benefit solutions. We believe great health benefits shouldn't come with a lot of fine print, and we're dedicated to giving our members exactly what we promise.
