Everbridge is a global software company that helps organizations keep people safe and businesses running. Our enterprise SaaS solutions enable customers to prepare for, respond to, and recover from critical events, acting faster when it matters most.
We’re looking for an exceptional Staff QE Engineer to help drive quality across a mission‑critical SaaS platform used by organizations responding to global emergencies. This role sits at the heart of a modern microservices ecosystem running on AWS and built with Scala and .NET. As a Staff QE Engineer you’ll shape quality strategy, influence architecture, and ensure reliability across scalable backend services, intuitive front‑end experiences, and cloud‑native infrastructure. Your work will directly support real‑time data processing and communication that helps protect lives when it matters most.

What you'll do

  • Partner closely with cross‑functional teams including full‑stack engineers, product managers, and architects to drive quality across the platform.
  • Design, implement, and evolve robust test frameworks for scalable microservices built with Scala, .NET Core, and C#.
  • Define quality strategies for both backend services and front‑end applications, contributing to UI validation for React or Angular components.
  • Validate and optimize cloud‑native workloads leveraging AWS services such as EKS, ECS, API Gateway, and OpenSearch.
  • Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies, influencing planning, estimation, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Strengthen DevOps pipelines through automation using GitLab, Jenkins, and containerization technologies.
  • Champion engineering best practices, guide teams on quality‑driven development, and mentor junior and mid‑level engineers.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and incorporate modern tooling including AI‑assisted development and testing solutions to elevate team productivity and product reliability.

What you'll bring:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in Test, with a strong focus on automation, quality strategy, and validating large‑scale distributed systems.
  • Deep hands‑on experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks for backend microservices using Scala‑based API testing or similar tooling.
  • Strong background in UI automation using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, with the ability to define scalable, maintainable test architectures.
  • Proven ability to build and execute end‑to‑end, integration, performance, and reliability testing strategies across microservices and cloud‑native systems.
  • Experience validating applications built with .NET Core, C#, Scala, and data stores like MongoDB or similar NoSQL technologies.
  • Solid understanding of AWS microservices architecture (EKS, ECS, API Gateway, OpenSearch) and how to design test approaches for distributed, event‑driven systems.
  • Working knowledge of front‑end technologies (React or Angular) and the ability to define effective UI and component‑level testing strategies.
  • Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes), including integrating automated tests into build and deployment workflows.
  • Exposure to AI‑assisted development and testing tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and interest in leveraging them to improve coverage and efficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Everbridge ranges from $132,000 - $185,000 and may also include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Everbridge offers a wide range of best in class, comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, dental, parental planning, and mental health benefits, disability income benefits, life and AD&D insurance, a 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, and fitness reimbursements.

The company's mission is to keep people safe and organizations running. Everbridge offers a Critical Event Management (CEM) platform that enables businesses, governments, universities, and healthcare providers to quickly and reliably aggregate, correlate, and assess threat data.
