Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages R&D’s product development activities within India.
  • Works closely with R&D functional leaders and managers in support of R&Ds product development roadmap and in compliance with regulatory, security and privacy policy requirements.
  • Ensures R&D development practices (Agile) and processes are established and adhered to.
  • Operates as an escalation to engineering teams helping to troubleshoot, eliminate inefficiencies and enable problem solving where needed.
  • Use data to inform decisions about products, technology, and teams. 
  • Helps to build a high-performance engineering capabilities and culture including helping functional leaders hire top technical talent 
  • Will report to the Chief Technology Officer as well as part of the Country Leadership Team; fostering collaboration and ensuring operational effectiveness.


Experience and Education Requirements:

  • B.S. (Software Development degree highly preferred)
  • 15+ years of industry (Software) experience, 9+ years of successful management experience in relevant industry.

Requirements

  • Track record of delivering on strategic & technical goals, including driving technical strategy via a strong technical leadership team 
  • Experience as a champion of Agile Software Development philosophies and successfully operating in an Agile-led software development processes
  • Experienced communicator/presenter of technical information with a quality focus to internal as well as external partners
  • Familiarity using relevant, modern, software test tools and equipment 
  • Android and iOS app development experience
  • Understanding of cloud-based client/server backend mobile apps and systems
  • Programming Languages exposure, with hands-on-keyboard direct experience on many: Swift, Kotlin, Objective C, Java, C, maybe others
  • Mobile App Architecture understanding
  • Exposure to app design patterns: MVC (model view controller), MVVM (model view viewmodel), MVP (model view presenter)
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting the development and implementation of supporting organizational vision and strategy
  • Proven business acumen and business management
  • Experience in leading business improvement projects with a process or continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills as a consensus builder to be able to build solid, effective working relationships with others
  • Able to constructively work in a very demanding performance-oriented work environment with high workloads and deadlines
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and lead teams
  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency
  • Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Able to travel as necessary
