Data Scientists spend most of their time cleaning and organizing data — what they really want to be doing is working closer to the other end of the Machine Learning pipeline and creating business value. DataRobot is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help design the next-generation of Machine Learning centric data preparation.
In this role, you will work alongside some of the world's best machine learning engineers to continually improve and evolve the user interface of the DataRobot application. The job requires the ability to rapidly prototype new features, demonstrate them to various stakeholders (data scientists, product managers, corporate management) and peers, accept feedback and iterate on implementation as necessary. The ideal candidate should have several years of industry experience in ReactJS, write quality code, participate in design/development discussions, and have a demonstrated ability to quickly integrate mock-ups into the working application.
Key Responsibilities:
You have 5+ years of front-end software engineering experience
You are experienced with JavaScript, CSS and semantic HTML and have strong debugging abilities across all major browsers
You have production experience with ReactJS and a solid understanding of the latest approaches to building reusable, functional components
You look for ways to push JavaScript and the web browser beyond what others have already done
You are a skilled programmer with passion for the way the pixels look on the page
You have worked in large JavaScript codebases and have experience keeping code testable, modular, and loosely coupled
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
You have a strong working knowledge of d3.js
You are experienced with popular testing frameworks such as React Testing Library (RTL), Jest and Cypress
Foundational understanding of machine learning and the value it brings to users
Able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, on technical issues
Personal drive to get things finished
Willing to continuously learn and challenge yourself, and apply your knowledge to improve DataRobot.
