An inclusive work environment is an empowering one. At Cutover, we lead with empathy and enable others to succeed through curiosity, kindness, and self-expression.

Location: Hybrid or Fully Remote (UK)

Cutover’s Collaborative Automation SaaS platform enables enterprises to simplify complexity, streamline work, and increase visibility. Cutover’s automated runbooks connect teams, technology, and systems, increasing efficiency and reducing risk in IT disaster and cyber recovery, cloud migration, release management, and technology implementation. Cutover is trusted by world-leading institutions, including the three largest US banks and three of the world’s five largest investment banks.

With Cutover, you’ll be joining a visionary organisation and making a real impact. Our Executive team is keen to invest in building a world-class in-house Legal function, so we’re delighted to start the search for a stellar mid-level Legal Counsel to join us and propel our team forward. This is a London based role.

What impact will you have as our Legal Counsel?

  • Working closely with our VP Legal and existing international legal team, you’ll be negotiating with some of the world’s largest and most exciting companies (including our clients, partners and suppliers), helping to develop our partner legal track (working on reselling, managed outsourcing and referral arrangements) and generally helping to finesse the foundations that our VP Legal and Senior Legal Counsel have already established. You’ll be working on an excitingly broad array of technology, data, and intellectual property contracts and working with our legal and wider department team members.
  • Collaborating with various departments, you’ll be a trusted advisor across the team.
  • You’ll provide a strong level of partnership to our go-to-market teams: collaborating closely with our wider team, providing expert counsel, and ensuring legal is seen as a deal accelerator, rather than a bottleneck.
  • You’re focused on results and enjoy the challenge of enterprise negotiations.

What would we like you to bring to the table?

  • You’re a UK qualified lawyer with the right to work in the UK (alternatively, we will consider US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand or South African qualified lawyers - provided you have the right to work in the UK).
  • We’re seeing this as a junior to mid-level Legal Counsel role, so you’ll have at least 2-5 years relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Ideally, you’ll have played a Legal Counsel role in at least one other quickly-growing technology business; bonus points if you’re coming from an Enterprise B2B SaaS company working with financial services clients and you understand the complexity and nuance of navigating high-value contracts and lengthy deal cycles.
  • You love getting your teeth into a deal, partnering with internal stakeholders to find solutions and close contracts. You’re a confident self-starter who enjoys being front and centre of negotiations.
  • You’re fascinated by new tech and innovative ways of doing business - you’re not a back-office legal person, but someone who wants to be a genuine partner to the business (you can demonstrate how you’ve successfully partnered with key stakeholders from the broader business - not just the commercial side of things - in your previous roles).
  • With a love of technology and contract drafting, you’ll roll up your sleeves and get stuck in to partner with our teams to help us reach our revenue targets whilst protecting the business and ensuring we work within our risk parameters.
  • You must provide a copy of your current practising certificate along with your application, please.

The good stuff…

  • We're excited to offer Share Options as part of our compensation package.
  • 25 days of PTO per year + public holidays, and we want you to take all of them!
  • 3 volunteer days to use for any charitable/voluntary cause you would like.
  • A top-tier private health insurance package.
  • Aviva pension scheme.
  • A work from home stipend
  • A personal learning and development budget through Learnerbly. You’ll be supported in your quest for knowledge, whatever that looks like to you.
  • If you’re thinking of starting or growing your family, then you’ll be in great company - more than half of our team are parents and we’ve built a globally consistent parental leave approach that we’re proud of.
  • Employee Referral Scheme.
  • Cutover mental health initiatives, from fully subsidised therapy sessions to subscriptions to leading wellbeing platforms.

Diversity Statement - Empowering Our Teams
