Job Summary
This opportunity is for a Perfusionist specializing in cardiac and vascular procedures, located in Springfield, Illinois. The position is based in an Acute Care Hospital that is a Level I trauma center and a magnet facility. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois licensure on the first day of employment.
Job Details
- Schedule: 5x8 days shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week and 8 hours per shift
- Required Qualifications: Illinois license in hand at submission, current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, minimum of 4 years of experience preferred in perfusion roles, excellent knowledge of acid-base management, perfusion adequacy, adult respiratory and cardiac arrest, and other listed skills
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner charting system, trauma level I experience, travel experience, prior charge experience, and familiarity with specialized equipment such as the Liva Nova Essenz heart lung machine and CentriMag/Cardiohelp systems
- Additional Information:
- First-timers accepted; candidates must have at least 18 months of unit-specific experience if not otherwise specified
- Candidates must complete a background review prior to the assignment
- Floating to nearby affiliates or within the hospital is required for all travelers
- Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays, with rotation approximately every 5th weekend and possible holiday coverage
- Orientation hours: 8 hours
- The first day of assignment is a virtual at-home day where additional module completion may be required to meet strict deadlines
