We're on a mission to simplify the logistics of global trade. Back in the 1950s, the invention of the standardized container revolutionized global transport, making it affordable to move goods across the world and paving the way for globalization as we know it. However, while the container itself was a breakthrough, many of the processes surrounding it remained complex, manual, and prone to errors. That's where we come in. Our ambition is to leverage technology to make these processes as straightforward and efficient as the container itself. We achieve this by providing a neutral infrastructure that connects all logistics companies, aiming to eliminate friction and create new economic opportunities.

Our journey started when our founders, Christian Roeloffs and Dr. Johannes Schlingmeier, identified the challenge of repositioning empty containers while working as consultants at the Boston Consulting Group. Their initial solution was an Excel-based system designed to match supply and demand in container logistics. This humble beginning planted the seed for what Container xChange would become. We secured our seed funding from leading European SaaS and Marketplace investors and quickly established our first offices in Hamburg and Indonesia, signaling our global ambitions from day one. As we grew, leading shipping lines and forwarders began using our platform to manage their container inventories. We established our home at the harbor with a new office in the heart of Hamburg and introduced a wallet feature, positioning xChange as a key payment layer in the industry. We've focused on building a global community, which now includes over 1,700 vetted partners across 2,500+ locations worldwide. We also launched the world's first neutral container trading marketplace, making xChange a comprehensive one-stop-shop for all container-related needs. We're proud to be trusted by over 1,700 logistics businesses globally and are committed to providing transparency through publicly available reviews and performance information.
