We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-oriented Linux Systems Engineerto join our team. This person will manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of servers across on-premises and cloud environments.
To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape.
Primary Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:
Design, deploy, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE) and related infrastructure.
Monitor and optimize system performance, apply patches, and enforce security standards.
Automate processes using Bash, Python, or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Manage virtualization and cloud environments (VMware, KVM, AWS, Azure, OCI).
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
Maintain accurate system documentation, generate reports, and support audits or compliance initiatives.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- 3+ years of experience
- An ability to work independently, multi-task, and communicate effectively will be required for this role.
- US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance
- Expertise in networking, security, virtualization, and cloud technologies
