We're seeking a hands-on Head of Engineering to lead a critical unit of approximately 15 talented engineers, driving architectural excellence, and directly contributing to the code as we scale. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical and experienced leader who brings exceptional Python proficiency, deep Linux expertise, and automation mastery.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience
- At least 3-5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering) overseeing a team of similar size (around 20 engineers)
- Exceptional Python Proficiency: A strong track record of building complex, high-performance, and scalable systems using Python. Experience with full-stack development is a plus
- Deep Linux Expertise: A profound understanding of Linux operating systems at an architectural and operational level; you truly understand the OS, not just its applications
- Automation Mastery: Proven success in implementing automation principles and tools to transform manual processes into highly efficient workflows
- Leadership & Management: A strong, enthusiastic, and results-oriented leadership style with a clear bias for action and fast delivery
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and inspire engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
- Startup Acumen: Experience working in startup environments, comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and high ownership
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts and strategic direction to both engineers and executives
