About the Function
Global Data Governance is responsible for managing policies, maintaining and improving processes, and communicating and training Circana employees and clients on the use of retailer and consumer data. Data Governance works across commercial, product, operations, technology and legal teams to set the best practice controls protecting the permissible use of retailer data and ensuring proper internal practices are followed.

What will I be doing?
The Data Governance Leader dual reports to the Retail Operations and Retail Commercial leaders. As the Data Governance Leader, you will be responsible to set the direction for the data governance function and align with leaders across the organization to support data governance efforts. You will build key relationships with leaders in commercial, product, operations, technology, and legal. You will guide the data governance team in enhancing policies and processes related to data governance. A key part of your role will be to develop best practices and ensure those best practices are deployed to all employees, clients and solutions teams.

You can expect that your time will be comprised of internal meetings and leading the continuous improvement of data governance. Most of the interactions within your team, and across the organization, will be done through a virtual work environment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate people and process leadership, both within the Data Governance function, as well as cross-functionally. It is important that the individual is able to tailor communications to different audiences and make complex technical information easy to understand.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive deployment of data governance best practices across the global Circana business.
  • Drive consistency of standards throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate a formal internal data governance committee.
  • Lead effective problem solving with internal teams with confidence and high levels of collaboration, to ensure data governance policies and process are followed.
  • Develop trusting relationships with client teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Coordinate with other functions within the organization to ensure data governance goals are achieved.
  • Implement company-wide policies, training and standards associated with handling and manipulating third-party data.
  • Drive a continuous improvement process within the data governance function.
  • Stay informed of continuous retailer data release restrictions and privacy laws.
  • Engage with retail account teams and retail partners to understand needs and develop data governance standards that support new/additional uses cases.
  • Develop and maintain global annual compliance training for data governance.


Requirements

  • Senior leader with 10+ years of relevant retail industry experience
  • A working ability to read, interpret and convert legal agreements into company standards.
  • Working knowledge of Circana solutions preferred (must be familiar with syndicated data)
  • Knowledge of Circana operations processes preferred
  • Ability to effectively lead change and influence other senior leaders across divisions/functions/countries
  • Lead and develop a team of Analysts/Manager that support the data governance function.
  • Ability to drive fact-based decision making
  • Detailed and organized
  • Ability to develop policies, process, communications, training
  • Excited about building/improving process and setting up enhanced capabilities between Commercial / Operations / Product teams

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
