About the Role

CHANEL is looking for an E-commerce Platform Manager to join our Digital team in New York City. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence.

This data driven manager will help increase the engagement of US users on chanel.com and Chanel applications to elevate client experience and brand image while growing the revenue for our divisions and E-Commerce business. The Manager, Platform Ecommerce will be responsible for managing the requirements gathering workshops for new ecommerce projects, writing the functional requirements and project managing until go live of the feature. Keeping a close look at the engagement post go live and providing ideas to enhance the feature will be critical. This leader is responsible for the full life cycle of the project from the digital side. Additionally, the Manager, Platform Ecommerce, will closely partner with the different digital pillars to support any initiatives ecommerce related. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, passionate about ecommerce innovation and project management with experience in successful launches of ecommerce features.

As a Manager, platform Ecommerce, you will bring your digital expertise to help shape and define new Ecommerce features, participating in the project management until go live on chanel.com and other touchpoints.

Project Ideation & Management

  • Performing competitor analysis and ideation to help pitch CHANEL leadership on new projects and/or to help guide new project requirements
  • Support functional discovery to obtain a deep understanding of relevant business area(s) by using variety of techniques such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards, etc.
  • Partner with divisions, and any other relevant teams, to make sure projects are well scoped, gathering all the mandatory requirements from the impacted teams.
  • Follow-up autonomously on the status of the project, finding creative ways, if needed, to respect the initial committed planning (MVP approach- Minimum Viable Product)
  • Set up the necessary meetings to guide the projects, involving global and local partners.
  • Raise alerts to management if any aspect of the project leads to delays or non-respect of the initial requirements
  • PowerPoint presentation skills and ability to story tell through facilitation, presentation and visual imagery

Existing Features Follow Up

  • Gather data regarding the existing ecommerce features on the platform and provide propositions to improve/ increase their usage based on your data analysis
  • If and once validated, you will make sure these improvements come to life within the yearly roadmap/ cadence requests

Site Incident Management

  • Support the Group Director, Platform Experience Owner to coordinate the required Digital stakeholders in circumstances of incidents impacting the platform
  • Partner with Technology teams to explain the business impacts and help take the relevant action depending on the incident
  • Run monthly reporting of the platform stability, improving it if needed, to bring awareness to leadership on the key information

Roadmap and Cadences

  • Assist the team with the annual road mapping process by continually researching innovations that could match the business needs and objectives
  • Perform competitor analysis to help pitch the digital leadership on new projects/ to help guide new project requirements
  • Help navigate and influence global and local partners

  • Strong Project and Product Management experience, working in an agile methodology in a digital ecommerce environment
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively understanding how and when to involve various levels of leadership and management, if situation requires
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, fostering relationships with multiple parties, beyond project related agendas, to drive continuous dialog around digital innovation
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and holistically minded, responsible for continuously updating stakeholders to ensure proper flow of information
  • Ownership and accountability, responsible for escalating on situations that would require management attention/ decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex functional information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing

Position Logistics:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles: product management, project management, digital ecommerce experience focus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • New York City Based Position
  • Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three-days in-person office presence at the designated location/office.
  • Certifications in AGILE methodology, Google Analytics is a plus
  • Familiar with ADO and Confluence or similar tools
  • MS Office Suite
  • Experience in the luxury retail industry preferred

Compensation:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $69,100 - $120,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.

  • Work-Place Essential: This role requires 5 days in person office at the designated location/office.

Retail/Field/Boutique positions:

  • Partially Remote:
    • Fragrance & Beauty Field, Fashion Regionals, etc.: Requires in-store presence to develop and coach teams, ensure boutique image and operational standards are upheld and support and create an elevated client experience. Eligible for flex time use.
  • Workplace Essential:
    • Boutique Management: Requires in-store presence to develop and coach teams, ensure boutique image and operational standards are upheld, and deliver elevated client service to drive business results.
    • Front of House Fashion: Full-time in-store and in-person presence required to support client sales and client service deliver elevated client service to drive business results.
    • Heart of House: Requires in-store presence to facilitate the opening and closing of the boutique; the receiving of inventory; shipping of product to support sales to ensure optimal client service.
