The Role
As the Curation Team Lead at Wizard, you will be instrumental in adding human intelligence to our sophisticated algorithm, ensuring our customers are matched with the perfect products. Your responsibilities will involve overseeing the human curation layer that directly influences the matching algorithm. You will also write Category Guides, to continue training the algorithm. The ideal candidate for this role will not only possess the strategic vision to shape the future of our curation processes but also demonstrate a readiness to engage in hands-on tasks initially. As the role evolves, there will be an opportunity to build and lead a dedicated team, guiding them toward achieving our collective goals. Wizard is currently focused on the shopping needs of busy parents. Our ideal candidate will have experience with merchandising for kids categories including toys, baby gear, shoes and apparel.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the human curation layer of our Ai-generated product recommendation process by continuously adding and editing Top picks for kids’ toys, shoes, apparel, and baby gear.
- Monitor the Ai-generated recommendations to ensure customers are receiving high quality product recommendations. Analyze results and identify the root cause of any low quality recommendations.
- Keep abreast of top trending items in the kids’ toys, shoes, apparel and gear space.
- Comb through our product catalog to ensure data accuracy and lead data clean-up efforts when issues are identified.
- Complete research projects for kids’ products and write product guides to further train the AI model.
You
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years experience in merchandising, ideally within a tech-forward retail environment.
- Interest and experience in eCommerce with passion for the customer, consumer and shopper
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience using data to influence business decisions
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- Experience in the kids' products space with a deep understanding of top brands and trends.
- Basic understanding of AI and its application in matching product attributes to customer preferences.
- A passion for curation and the iterative process of improving product recommendations.
- Experience in Startup Tech preferred but not required.
