About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Website Developer with experience in Squarespace and Shopify to lead the redevelopment of a distributor-focused website. The role involves building a new product landing page website from scratch, featuring over 100 SKUs, and migrating from the existing OpenCart setup.
This is a part-time position for 6 months, offering 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling, as long as work is done within standard Sydney business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a new website from scratch using Squarespace or Shopify, based on client specifications
- Create a landing page-style website (not a full e-commerce store) that showcases 100+ products
- Upload product data including images, prices, descriptions, and categories from Google Drive
- Ensure the site is well-structured and SEO-optimized for search engine visibility
- Migrate any relevant structure or content from OpenCart, as needed
- Structure the website to reflect the presence of distributors and organize the content accordingly
- Conduct quality checks and implement changes based on feedback
- Implement Shopify API basics and assist with app installation and optimization
- Customize Shopify themes using Liquid, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML
Optimize email marketing workflows and integrations
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in building websites with Squarespace and Shopify
- Strong SEO optimization skills and understanding of best practices
- Experience managing and displaying large product catalogs (100+ SKUs)
- Ability to organize and upload product content efficiently
- Experience with Shopify API, app integrations, and theme customization (Liquid, CSS, JavaScript, HTML)
- Email marketing optimization experience
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong time management and communication skills
