About the Role (Freelance)

We’re looking for the best content creators to help us transform how Americans eat through nutrition therapy!

We’re looking for contracted content creators who can own the full content process: ideation, filming, editing, and fresh concept development rooted in our target audience. You should understand internet culture, know how to create lo-fi, scroll-stopping videos, and feel confident leading with authenticity on camera. The ideal creator knows how to bring scripts to life in a way that feels real, engaging, and native to social - not like an ad.

To start, this will be a contracted role that will deliver 5-10 videos a month with the potential to grow into a retainer contract.

Non-Negotiables:

  • A genuine love for capturing food and healthy lifestyle content: recipes, grocery hauls, nutrition tips, and everyday healthy-living moments, and the ability to speak about them authentically because this is already part of your life. Your current content creator work must reflect this type of content already.
  • The ability to generate ideas that cut through the noise and resonate with the Berry Street community: people looking for approachable, expert-backed nutrition support that feels human, relatable, and supportive.
  • Executes independently from concept to final edit, with guidance from our in-house creative team as needed.
  • Brings a clear point of view, personal style, and high attention to detail to every piece of content.
  • Comfortable creating content for paid ads and understands how to adapt their style for performance-driven creative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-volume content to be used across paid ads and social media platforms.
  • Write scripts that align with our content pillars and performance best practices.
  • Own the process of finding and engaging our audience in unique, unexpected ways including hooks intros, editing styles, and finding authentic ways to speak to our audience.
  • Translate nutrition science and complex concepts into content that’s relatable, digestible, and genuinely entertaining.
  • Stay deeply tapped into internet culture and understands which trends align with our brand and which to avoid.
  • Have an expert eye for editing techniques that will cut through the noise in social media.
  • Be able to turn around feedback from the team in a timely manner.
  • Be able to audit our reviews, comments, and Reddit to identify pain points that can be used as content ideas.

Requirements

  • Proven experience creating content for brands, agencies, or have been able to scale your own social media channels.
  • Strong charisma and storytelling skills that translate well on video.
  • Proficiency in video editing and social media tools such as: Final Cut, CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Deep understanding of social media best practices, algorithms, trends, and analytics.
  • Ability and discipline to operate independently.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • NYC-based location (Not a requirement but nice to have).
  • A portfolio of previous work you can share and/or social media handles with your work.

By seamlessly handling everything from insurance enrollment with major providers like Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare to providing a full suite of tools for virtual care, clinical documentation, and patient communication, Berry Street freed dietitians to do what they do best: heal America's relationship with food. This bold move has already created the largest network of nutrition specialists in the world, rapidly expanding its reach to make expert-led, insurance-covered nutrition care a new standard in American wellness.
