Expert Audio Transcriber, Catalan

Perle is hiring expert Galician transcribers to convert audio recordings into precise, conventionally formatted written transcripts for major AI labs. The work involves making principled orthographic decisions and applying correct conventions for speaker identification, overlapping speech, disfluencies, and non-speech events. Native fluency in Galician and mastery of Galician orthography are required.

Requirements

• Native fluency in Galician with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Galicia
• Mastery of Galician orthography per the Real Academia Galega guidelines
• Ability to distinguish Galician from Portuguese and from Spanish in mixed audio
• Comfortable transcribing Galician-Spanish code-switching as it occurs naturally
• At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation experience
• Demonstrated accuracy at the word level under deadline pressure
• Comfortable with web-based annotation platforms and variable-speed audio playback
• Reliable high-speed internet, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace
• Ability to commit to defined volume per week during active project phases
