Job Overview:

APTIM seeks a highly motivated Client Program Manager, with prior consulting experience and established client relationships, to grow and support our retail, logistics, and hospitality client markets. The Client Program Manager will be responsible for developing client relationships, assisting with business development efforts, and directing project work. The successful candidate will identify and develop client relationships and new opportunities with a particular focus on environmental, health, and safety compliance and permitting, site remediation, resiliency, and sustainability solutions. This role will involve direct engagement with APTIM's commercial clients to cross-selling other service areas within APTIM and capture new customers that will allow APTIM to grow.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Account Management

  • Function as seller-doer directly affecting the revenue, profitability, cash flow, and repeat business of the company through the ability to develop client relationships and lead associate teams in successfully delivering a quality product or service to the client.
  • Serve as a key Account Manager to specific commercial clients with an existing book of business.
  • Represents the company to clients and maintains client relationships, often solving complex problems with innovative solutions.
  • Manage all aspects of project start-up including project planning, staffing, budgeting, create tasks and direction for the staff, manage project and client through ramp-up phase of the project.
  • Develop a working understanding of APTIM's other consulting practice areas and actively support cross-selling other services to expand existing client relationships that generate repeat business.
  • Develop and manage environmental programs and project activities that range from small to large in value and a variety of scopes of work.

Business Development

  • Organizes and contributes to business development activities for the retail, logistics, and hospitality markets.
  • Utilizes a combination of project management, technical, business management, and business development skills to develop and execute business with goals for revenue, cash management, and direct margin, and achieving client satisfaction/repeat business.
  • Direct preparation of proposals, supervises project teams, and manages project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Participate in APTIM's sales incentive program and responsible for tracking leads and opportunities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Monitor market conditions, innovations and trends, technology, and competitors' performance, pricing and sales strategies to maximize competitive stance.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected; anticipates and interprets customer needs to identify solutions
  • Travel as necessary to successfully perform duties

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in engineering, consulting, environmental assessment/remediation and/or permitting
  • 10+ years' experience in client account management/business development relevant to environmental compliance and/or environmental assessment/remediation
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers at commercial clients.
  • Experience and confidence to grow business in a dynamic market environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build, coach, and mentor collaborative teams.
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal), strategic thinking, negotiation, presentation, and "people" skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office software.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in the retail, logistics, and/or hospitality markets
  • Consulting experience around hazardous materials/waste management, stormwater, and air quality preferred
  • Experience in Salesforce software or similar CRM software
  • Tangible and documented project management experience
