AmeriCorps

We are the federal agency for national service and volunteering, and we have been a cornerstone of American civic engagement since our founding in 1993. At AmeriCorps, we believe that service is a powerful solution to our nation's most pressing challenges. We bring people together to tackle the tough problems facing our communities, from disaster response and opioid recovery to education and environmental stewardship. Our mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering.

Every year, we provide opportunities for more than 200,000 Americans to serve their country through our various programs, including AmeriCorps VISTA, AmeriCorps NCCC, and AmeriCorps Seniors. We are passionate about empowering individuals to make a difference, whether they are young adults starting their careers or older Americans sharing their wisdom. We work hand-in-hand with thousands of nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and community groups to ensure that our service has a lasting impact.
