HealthCorps

HealthCorps is a national non-profit organization dedicated to addressing health inequities in at-risk communities by educating and empowering teenagers. Founded in 2003 by Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife Lisa Oz, the organization focuses on strengthening teens with innovative approaches to health and wellness. Its mission is to provide today's youth with the tools to become more physically and mentally resilient, thereby giving the next generation the best chance at a long and healthy life.

The organization operates through a peer-mentoring model where recent college graduates are placed in high-need high schools to deliver a skills-based curriculum. This curriculum covers fitness, nutrition, and mental resilience, and is integrated into the school day as well as through after-school clubs and community events. HealthCorps encourages students to become change agents within their families, schools, and neighborhoods, fostering a culture of wellness that extends beyond the classroom. The program has impacted millions of students and is aligned with national health education standards.
