The core idea was to develop a virtual health assistant, aptly named Abi, that would empower users to send their health-related questions to licensed doctors directly from their preferred chat applications like WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, Skype, and even SMS, anytime and anywhere. This approach was designed to meet people where they already were, removing common barriers to accessing medical advice.
