Thuy Trang Vo
@thuytrangvo
Ph.D. researcher specializing in atmospheric science and geospatial analysis.
What I'm looking for
I am a dedicated researcher with a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. My work focuses on urban climate research, particularly the effects of urbanization on local cloud patterns and tree canopy temperatures. I have developed innovative solutions using Python for processing satellite data and crowd-sourcing weather information, contributing to significant advancements in our understanding of urban heat dynamics.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with NASA on various projects, including the development of a downstream processing pipeline for satellite data validation. My experience spans multiple research roles, including a visiting graduate student at NCAR, where I validated high-resolution cloud outputs. I am passionate about leveraging technology and data to address environmental challenges and improve urban sustainability.
