At Conservation Management Institute, I prepared a wildlife telemetry pilot dataset by cleaning Bluetooth detections and GPS records, then linking animal detections with land cover and infrastructure data. I delivered reproducible scripts, documented datasets, maps, and statistical summaries for project staff.
At Virginia Tech Drone Park, I planned and operated FAA Part 107-compliant UAV missions and processed RGB, multispectral, thermal, hyperspectral, and LiDAR data. I also supported platform and sensor integration tests and trained students and researchers on safe flight operations.
For my master's research at Virginia Tech, I integrated field observations, Landsat vegetation indices, LiDAR canopy metrics, and terrain variables to map understory evergreen shrubs in two Appalachian wilderness areas. I built and validated models using Random Forest and Logistic Regression.
My geospatial work has also included species-distribution modeling, watershed analysis, forest carbon mapping, fire-risk modeling, and spatial analysis of poverty. I hold an M.S. in Geography from Virginia Tech and an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.
