Thomas Kidd
@thomaskidd
Public historian specializing in archival research, historical writing, and editing.
What I'm looking for
I am a public historian with graduate training in local, regional, and public history and a strong background in archival research and historical writing. I completed a published master's thesis on the West Virginia Coal Mine Wars and have contributed to editorial work for an academic review.
My experience spans internships and assistantships at historical societies, a university, and remote editorial projects where I produced annotated bibliographies, research notes, blog posts, exhibition groundwork, and social media posts promoting archival materials.
I have practical teaching experience as a teaching assistant for U.S. and World History courses, including grading and leading discussion sections, and I have scored Grade 7 reading responses for standardized assessments remotely.
I bring meticulous research skills, strong written communication, and editorial experience in historical fiction and academic contexts, and I seek roles that allow me to apply public-history methods to outreach, curation, and historical interpretation.
