At Sol Plaatje University, I developed research objectives and led quantitative GIS and remote sensing studies of climate change, maize production, rangeland degradation, bush encroachment and landscape change. I managed and analysed environmental datasets containing more than 100,000 spatial records.
At the University of the Free State, I integrated census, satellite and ground observation data for land degradation monitoring, and validated satellite products against field observations with 95% thematic accuracy. I also taught GIS and remote sensing modules and supervised Honours and Masters students.
My research combines GIS, Earth observation and data science to turn complex environmental data into maps and decision-ready evidence. I have authored or co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, and completed an MSc in Data Science at Nottingham Trent University.
