Learning scientist and curriculum engineer using honest measurement to build AI-enabled assessment.
What I'm looking for
I’m a learning scientist, curriculum engineer, and EdTech product strategist focused on “what is worth measuring, and how to keep it honest.” I’ve spent my career designing assessments, learning analytics, and curricula that translate evidence into decision-ready systems—then shipping them to production.
At Alpha School, I lead learning science and platform engineering, institutionalizing automated build gates with a derive-the-truth check that fails on mismatch (regeneration under 5% of generated items). I also built the Alpha HS Math Hub, distilling 200+ studies into briefs, and shipped a Digital SAT prep app with a 700+ item bank—cutting production from ~10 days to ~30 minutes through AI generation plus human curation.
My work spans psychometrics and learning science: I’ve applied IRT for national high-stakes admissions items, engineered calibrated mastery-based scaffolding, and hardened student-data pipelines (42 unauthenticated routes eliminated). I bring a teaching-and-curriculum mindset from IB MYP leadership through mathematics instruction—so measurement, pedagogy, and product integrity stay aligned.
