Carlos Burgos

I'm a Data Scientist with experience in educational and geological projects. In my recent role at the Universidad de Chile, I developed Python scripts to automate the extraction of metrics related to student behavior and engagement. I analyzed these metrics by clustering students to uncover learning patterns and predict academic performance. Additionally, I collaborated on the development of a dashboard, ensuring that the visualizations were pedagogically meaningful and actionable for instructors.

My academic background in Industrial Engineering has provided me with a strong foundation in statistics and machine learning. I have experience with quantitative methods such as t-tests, ANOVA and difference-in-differences analysis. I'm also proficient in classic machine learning models (e.g., logistic regression, SVM) as well as more modern algorithms like Gradient Boosting Trees and Neural Networks.
