Rohit Vernekar

I’m a Computer Science undergraduate specializing in backend engineering, with hands-on experience building production-grade systems in Java and Python. I also publish research and build tools in adversarial ML security, REST API design, and web privacy—so my work is both engineering-driven and security-conscious.

In my Java Development Intern role at Oasis Infobyte (AICTE OIB-SIP), I developed four production-quality Java console applications, applying OOP design patterns, encapsulation, and core data structures. I focused on building clean, reliable functionality—like a fully functional ATM interface and a multi-mode game—within the AICTE-recognized framework.

My projects reflect how I like to ship: in NeuralArmor, I engineered a model-agnostic security reverse proxy in FastAPI and reduced inference latency from 5s to 0.1s (98%) using a CVPR 2025 purifier. I’ve also built a real-time web privacy risk auditor using mitmproxy, Flask, a Manifest V3 Chrome extension, and PostgreSQL visualization, and I won 2nd place at VIDYUT 2K25 for an offline-first Android SOS platform using BLE/Wi‑Fi Direct mesh networking, Room DB, and Firebase. As a peer-reviewed author, I wrote a book chapter proposing a dual-path processing architecture to support ethical alignment for autonomous systems.
