Rakesh Kayal
@rakeshkayal
Backend-focused software engineer building secure, high-throughput systems with strong data structures and concurrency.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Backend-focused Software Engineer with strong foundations in Data Structures, Algorithms, and concurrency. I’ve solved 300+ LeetCode problems and actively participate in Codeforces contests to keep my problem-solving sharp.
In my Back-End Engineering Intern role, I developed RESTful APIs for concurrent requests and optimized database interactions to improve response efficiency. I implemented JWT and OAuth2-based authentication, introduced structured exception handling and validation to harden robustness, and improved performance by minimizing redundant database queries.
Through my Cybersecurity Intern experience, I performed security analysis on web applications and identified vulnerabilities such as SQL Injection and weak authentication flows. I simulated real-world attack scenarios to evaluate resilience, and applied secure coding practices to mitigate issues and improve reliability.
I’m especially motivated by building real-time, dependable backend systems—like my Real-Time Communication System using Java, Spring Boot, WebSocket, STOMP, and MySQL, supporting 500+ concurrent users with load-tested throughput and consistent delivery. I also enjoy secure, concurrency-aware engineering, shown in my UPI Offline Mesh Simulator with hybrid RSA-OAEP + AES-GCM encryption and idempotent transaction processing.
