As a typesetter and editor for Salem Author Services, I edit and format manuscripts to follow strict publishing guidelines established by the Chicago Manual of Style. This requires me to familiarize myself with the latest copyright requirements, proofread multiple texts a day, correct grammar mistakes, ensure sources are properly cited, and provide marked copies to authors within a short turnaround window. While working for Pilgrimage Press, I oversaw social media promotion via Facebook, Instagram, and X (previously Twitter). I was also responsible for social media promotion for My Friend the Printer where I copywrote numerous marketing materials for local organizations. I have professional experience using Adobe InDesign to format and edit copy for press, as well as with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I have created and formatted technical documents for various industries including steel production, automotive and aviation manuals, medical training documents, and educational resources. As part of my degree program, I served on an editorial board for the university’s in-house literary journal where I provided basic line editing for prose and poetry. From conception to print, I have done it all and would love to bring my skill set to your team!
