I switched my career to medical coding and billing and have been doing it for the past 4 years. I maintain two AAPC certifications—CPC and CPB—and I take pride in staying accurate, consistent, and compliant.

In my current role as a Medical Coding and Billing Specialist, I review patient charts and medical records to identify diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and supplies. I translate clinical documentation into standardized universal codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), prepare and submit insurance claims, monitor claim status, and correct rejected claims or appeal denied claims. I also verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations, respond to patients’ billing questions, set up payment plans, and manage accounts receivable while ensuring privacy law compliance such as HIPAA.

Before medical coding, I built strong customer-facing and operational skills through roles including Sales Associate, Office Manager, and Teller/Customer Services. That experience helps me communicate clearly, handle transactions and records carefully, and keep office or billing processes organized as I support accurate claim outcomes.
