At Independent Practice, I worked in business brokering and strategic consulting, advising owner-managed and SME businesses on commercial positioning, strategic options and business-development issues. I helped founders communicate business value to prospective buyers, investors and strategic partners.
At Original Eating Programmes / Professor Tim Noakes Platform, I co-developed and led the rollout of a health and nutrition platform. As CEO, I led clinical, online, product-development and commercial initiatives, including development of proprietary software and nutrition-related products.
At Oxygen Medical Scheme, I analysed the product mix during its unbundling from Old Mutual, mapped business processes and advised on outsourcing and transition to new service providers. I also owned and operated a sports-supplement manufacturing business, covering product formulation, manufacturing, marketing, sales and operations.
Through Independent Ventures, I designed, sold and delivered corporate wellness programmes serving hundreds of clients and recruited and managed a team of 17 trainers. I was also appointed three times by the South African Advertising Standards Authority (SAASA) as a nutraceutical-industry expert; my evidence-based opinions were upheld and recommendations adopted in final rulings.
