At Yale Center for Ecosystems + Architecture, I lead interdisciplinary research on nature-based and building-integrated environmental systems. I co-led the installation of a modular, 3D-printed Active Modular Phytoremediation System at the Museum of Tomorrow, made with biomaterial inclusions of 40% upcycled wood fiber.
My research connects indoor environmental quality, microbiomes, air quality chemistry, and human exposure. I’ve developed experimental approaches to study environmental microbiomes and exposures, and translated findings into design, policy, and implementation strategies. I also mentor researchers and teach ecological design and environmental systems.
