Noah Janes
@noahjanes
Biology graduate specializing in invasive species management and molecular ecology field research.
What I'm looking for
I am a Biology B.S. graduate with hands-on experience leading field crews and conducting molecular ecology research. I have led crews of 2–8 people on invasive plant management projects, managed logistics, repaired equipment, and maintained safety and compliance in the field.
In the lab, I have extracted DNA, plated fungal cultures, performed PCR and gel electrophoresis, and contributed to multi-season undergraduate research projects on microbiomes and invasive aquatic species. I presented posters at conferences, earning recognition for my work and building collaborative networks.
I bring strong field skills (herbicide mixing, mechanical removal, equipment operation), lab techniques (pipetting, tissue digestion, PCR), and data organization/analysis capabilities in R and Galaxy, and I seek roles that combine applied conservation work with molecular ecology and field leadership.
