What I'm looking for

I'm looking to lead and grow mobile engineering teams while building scalable, reliable consumer applications and modernizing mobile platforms.

At Mr D Food, part of Takealot Group, I lead a team of seven mobile engineers and have helped scale a consumer platform from around 100K to more than 2M users.

I own mobile delivery, architecture, and platform quality, partnering with Product, Design, backend teams, and leadership on roadmaps and business goals. I hire, onboard, mentor, and support engineers while staying hands-on with system design and mobile architecture.

Previously, I grew Mr D Food's Android team from one to four engineers and modernized the platform from Java to Kotlin with MVVM, Jetpack, and coroutines. I've improved stability through Firebase Crashlytics and delivery efficiency through Fastlane, CircleCI, and GitHub Actions.

Across more than 20 years, I've delivered consumer, e-commerce, payments, banking, and enterprise applications across Android, iOS, Flutter, Xamarin, and backend platforms. I enjoy building reliable mobile products, scalable engineering practices, and teams that can grow with high-traffic production systems.
