Onyekachi Idigo
@onyekachiidigo
I investigate developmental biology and strengthen quality systems in regulated life-science environments.
What I'm looking for
I'm investigating how cyp26a1 regulates retinoic acid gradients during zebrafish enteric nervous system development in the Uribe Lab at Rice University. My work combines gene-expression analysis, live imaging, and functional assays to examine developmental defects.
Previously, I researched MED12 and Mediator kinase module proteins in human adipose stem cells at Louisiana Tech University, contributing to a 2021 Stem Cell Discovery publication. I also led preclinical research on the anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective potential of Polyalthia longifolia extracts, managing experimental design, animal care, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
Alongside research, I've led quality control and assurance in food manufacturing, strengthening SOPs, GMP, ISO, and NAFDAC compliance while reducing product returns and batch inconsistencies. I've also taught and mentored students across cancer biology, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, and STEM programs.
