Nilakshi Fonseka

I’m a Chartered and Management Accountant based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and I bring a reputation built over a 20+ year career for responsibility, clarity, and trust. I have accounting, financial management, consultancy, and project implementation experience—often in remote or hybrid settings.

Most recently, I served as Manager – Business Consulting at Virtusa Pvt Ltd, where I managed project commitments across stakeholders and teams. I liaised between financial leadership teams and delivery groups, supported requirement gathering and analysis, and contributed to solution design and stakeholder engagement throughout projects.

Alongside consulting, I have led large finance and accounting functions. As Senior Group Manager at WNS Global Services, I led a team of 70 accountants and handled client expectations, balance sheet management, and audit/statutory/regulatory reporting for a major insurance services portfolio.

Previously, as Accountant and later a Finance Manager for private companies in Sri Lanka and Singapore, I was responsible for the planning and budgeting, accounting, financial operations and reporting of the group, as well as liaising with the Bankers, Auditors, Tax Authorities and other external stakeholders on the financial matters of the Companies I worked for.

I also bring deep ERP finance implementation experience, including Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and finance process improvements/automations. My early career included audit work at Ernst & Young Sri Lanka, and I continue to evolve through structured learning—balancing professional impact with teaching and community involvement.
