Backend Engineer building real-time IoT data systems and microservices for edge-to-cloud pipelines.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Backend Engineer focused on real-time IoT data systems and distributed edge-to-cloud pipelines. As Tech Lead & IoT Engineer at i4 Energy, I lead the development of microservices that power device communication across Modbus, OPCUA, and IEC 104—serving 200+ installations—while mentoring a team of 4–5 engineers and shaping architecture decisions.
I design high-throughput data flows with Kafka Streams and Elasticsearch, build multi-protocol IoT gateways for data normalization and protocol conversion, and automate deployment at scale with a template-based import system for tree-structured configuration entities. Previously at MAS S.A., I built SCADA/automation backend pipelines handling 13,440+ metrics/second, developed real-time visualization/alerting APIs with Deno and Node.js (TypeScript), and managed production Kubernetes workloads and MQTT-driven auto-deploy for on-premise installations.

Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Tech Lead & IoT Engineer
i4 Energy
Feb 2024 - Present (2 years 4 months)
Led distributed IoT infrastructure development serving 200+ installations, managing a team of 4–5 engineers through code reviews, mentoring, and architecture decisions. Architected and deployed Node.js, Django, and Quarkus microservices for Modbus/OPC UA/IEC 104 device communication and built Kafka Streams + Elasticsearch real-time aggregation pipelines.
Backend Developer
MAS S.A.
Feb 2021 - Feb 2024 (3 years)
Contributed to a SCADA/automation platform for energy installations, processing 13,440+ metrics/second from 28 installations via Kafka to Elasticsearch. Built real-time backend APIs with Deno and Node.js (TypeScript), implemented multi-level aggregation with Node-RED, and managed production Kubernetes workloads including an auto-deploy service driven by MQTT commands.
