Nathaniel MacMillan

I’m a product designer who ships production code, bringing UI/UX and implementation together from the start. Over a decade, I’ve built and led software for B2C, B2B, and the public sector.

As a founder and creative director, I’ve handled branding and web design for independent clients, including design-to-code implementation using Astro-based sites. Previously, I co-founded and operated a product development studio, serving public health, enterprise SaaS, and consumer mobile teams.

I’ve helped launch and scale products to real outcomes—reaching 1M+ active users and delivering a #1 ranked music app in East Africa. I’ve also engineered public-facing data experiences, including WCAG/ARIA-compliant interactive explorers in Preact/TypeScript, and reduced cross-platform fragmentation by building unified design systems before single-screen design.

I thrive where research, design systems, and front-end engineering meet—prototype iteration, component generation, and modern front-end development. I’m currently focused on agent orchestration and multi-step workflows, using AI for compression and execution details while keeping product direction grounded in human decisions.
