What I'm looking for

I'm seeking senior research or engineering roles in HPC, cloud and big-data analytics to design scalable workflows, optimize scientific applications, lead HPC infrastructure, and collaborate across institutions.

I am a research scientist specializing in high-performance data analytics, distributed and parallel systems, and real-time embedded software. I hold a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and have focused on scheduling, concurrency control, and optimization for multicore and distributed systems.

Over more than a decade of research and engineering experience, I have led HPC infrastructure projects including SLURM multi-cluster federations and Bright Computing administration, designed scalable analytical workflows at Jülich and UNCC, and published on STM concurrency, scheduling, and distributed analytics.

Jan 2004 - Present (21 years 8 months)

As a researcher, I am a member of the National HPC Grid, enabling access to HPC and cloud utilities across Egyptian universities. My work involves performance analysis and optimization of scientific applications like Quantum_Espresso, Comsol, and Ansys.

J(

Researcher

Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC)

Jan 2021 - Dec 2022 (1 year 11 months)

My primary responsibility was designing analytical workflows to support Geo-science research. This involved importing various data models into Rasdaman Geoserver and contributing to end-to-end analytical workflow design.

CA

Assistant Researcher

City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications

Jan 2008 - Dec 2014 (6 years 11 months)

As an Assistant Researcher, I contributed to the Knowledge Based Systems and Robotics Department. My responsibilities included various research tasks within the department.

VU

PhD Student

VT University

Jan 2009 - Dec 2013 (4 years 11 months)

My PhD research involved modifying real-time schedulers (G-EDF, G-RMA) of ChronOS and adding real-time locking protocols (OMLP, RNLP) using C. I also implemented contention managers for software transactional memory (RSTM) using C++.

CA

Network Team Member

City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications

Jan 2007 - Dec 2011 (4 years 11 months)

I was a member of the network team, responsible for maintaining the network infrastructure and mail server. This role ensured the smooth operation of critical IT services for the institution.

CA

Researcher Assistant

City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications

Jan 2005 - Dec 2008 (3 years 11 months)

My research assistant role involved implementing a grid computing environment using Globus. This environment was specifically designed to control a research robot.
