MOHAMMAD ALAM
@mohammadalam3
Multilingual medical interpreter and cultural mediator helping vulnerable communities communicate accurately.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Multilingual Interpreter and Cultural Mediator with 6+ years of experience translating between English, Rohingya, Bangla, and Burmese across humanitarian, medical, legal, and community-based settings. I deliver accurate, confidential, and culturally sensitive communication in both in-person and remote environments.
At MSF OCP (Mother and Child Hospital) I’ve provided real-time consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for refugees, migrants, and humanitarian teams in medical, legal, education, and community-related cases. I focus on empathetic communication, patient understanding, and clear support for vulnerable clients.
I also support cultural mediation and conflict resolution by bridging gaps between medical teams and Rohingya patients, interpreting medical information clearly, and communicating patients’ concerns back to staff. With HIPAA-aligned confidentiality and VRI/OPI training, I’m committed to ethical standards and smooth communication through tools like Zoom, Teams, and WhatsApp.
