Michael Baric
@michaelbaric
Transmission Line Engineer and IT founder blending design rigor with automation.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Transmission Line Engineer II focused on end-to-end, high-voltage design work for 115kV–345kV projects. At Sargent & Lundy, I use PLS-CADD and related tools to deliver NESC-compliant transmission line designs, including rigorous non-linear structural analysis, custom foundation designs, and full construction deliverables like plan & profile drawings, stringing charts, staking tables, and BOMs.
I also build systems on the IT side through my consulting work as the Founder of Cerberus IT Consulting LLC. I engineer automated, redundant cloud backup and disaster recovery approaches to eliminate human error and ensure rapid recovery, while using an RMM framework to provide instant troubleshooting and reduce downtime. I’ve also designed enterprise surveillance and integrated AI workflows—including LLMs and prompt engineering—to automate repetitive tasks and strengthen internal knowledge management.
Before specializing fully, I gained engineering fundamentals through internships that shaped how I prototype, test, and document. At Electrolux, I used CATIA to design and test packaging prototypes and compiled technical documentation to support future unit design. At Bio Domain Systems, I designed a wireless control network with a Particle Argon, created a web interface for remote control, and built automated data logs using Particle software and Blynk.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Engineered 115kV–345kV transmission line designs using PLS-CADD, achieving 100% compliance with NESC and utility-specific clearance requirements. Modeled structures in PLS-POLE and Tower, integrated aerial LiDAR for as-built modeling and thermal rating analysis, and produced construction deliverables in AutoCAD/PLS-CADD.
Founder
Cerberus It Consulting LLC
May 2019 - Present (7 years 1 month)
Designed automated, redundant cloud backup systems to eliminate human error and ensure 100% data integrity with fast recovery during critical failures. Built an RMM framework for rapid technical support, deployed enterprise surveillance systems, and implemented AI workflows using LLMs and prompt engineering to automate repetitive work and improve internal knowledge management.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
Electrolux
Jan 2022 - Aug 2022 (7 months)
Used CATIA to design and create packaging prototypes, then performed digital and physical tests to validate sample designs. Produced technical documentation of current/past product specifications and analyzed broken units to identify failure points and recommend fixes.
Bio Domain Systems Intern
Bio Domain Systems
Jun 2021 - Aug 2021 (2 months)
Designed the wireless control network for a unit using a Particle Argon and built a user-friendly web interface for remote machine control. Implemented automatic data logs for captured variables using Particle software and Blynk servers.
