I'm a software engineer based in Yaounde, Cameroon, with a degree in Computer Science and Information Systems. Since 2025 I have shipped and maintained six business systems that run in production for real clients: invoicing, inventory, payroll, licensing, pre-orders and flight booking. I work end to end, from requirements analysis and UML modelling through the interface and the API down to the database and the deployment.
I'm currently building the backend of a business travel platform for FairFareHQ, as a modular monolith on Domain-Driven Design principles across fourteen bounded contexts. I built the expense report module end to end, including receipt OCR and versioned company policies, and integrated Amadeus GDS and OpenAI.
Before that, for Drinhoseller and then DS SARL, I moved six business processes off Excel and paper into a production ERP covering inventory with barcode scanning, sales, suppliers, payroll and invoicing. I supported that system continuously in production for eighteen months, which is where I learned to trace a defect across the UI, the API and the database and confirm the fix actually holds. I've also delivered an offline-first Flutter application that survives network loss, an Angular SaaS for an amateur football league, and an import platform with a blocking SonarCloud quality gate in its CI pipeline.
Outside client work, I teach algorithms, data structures and web architecture at a higher education institute in Yaounde, and I've published twelve technical articles on architecture decisions and project retrospectives. Explaining a design choice clearly matters as much to me as making it.
I'm interested in backend and full-stack work on business-critical systems, and in AI-assisted engineering. Live demos of three of these systems are on maximenkengato.com.
