Mauro Guarinieri
@mauroguarinieri
Experienced public-health leader specializing in HIV, harm reduction, and policy.
What I'm looking for
I am a responsible group leader and public-health professional with over 25 years of experience addressing HIV/AIDS, harm reduction, and drug-use policy. I have a long track record of designing, advocating for, and implementing community-focused programs across regions.
I led the RCF Consortium, strengthening global and regional networks of people who use drugs, and served ten years at the Global Fund, where I created and filled the Senior Technical Adviser, Community Responses and Drug Use role. I guided integration of community responses and drug-use considerations throughout the grant cycle.
My career includes senior technical, program management, and advisory roles across international organizations, humanitarian networks, and national treatment centers, with direct experience in grant management, policy advocacy, and capacity strengthening. I have supported country teams, developed strategic advocacy roadmaps, and led organizational development initiatives.
I publish and present on drug use, HIV, and treatment access and have chaired multiple global boards. I bring stakeholder management, strategic planning, program design, and technical guidance to teams seeking lasting public-health impact.
