Mary Maynard

I’m a Registered Nurse and Case Manager with ten years of experience supporting adults and children across oncology, cardiac, ICU, emergency, critical care, medical-surgical, and mental health/illness populations. I’m an energetic, self-motivated team player who builds strong relationships to deliver compassionate, efficient quality care and outcomes.

In my critical care background—three years as a critical care nurse/charge nurse—I strengthened my ability to assess quickly, coordinate effectively, and maintain patient safety under pressure. For seven years, I’ve worked as a case manager with discharge planning and UM Review/Lead Nurse responsibilities, ensuring admission and continued stay are medically necessary and clearly communicated to payors.

In recent roles, I’ve led comprehensive plans for designated target populations by partnering with physicians and interprofessional teams, holding joint accountability with social workers and discharge planning, and supporting continuity of care. I’ve also managed day-to-day assessments and documentation while focusing on what “the patient comes first” means in practical decisions.

I’m currently enrolled in the Master Nursing/Advance Nurse Practitioner program at Capella University, with ACM certification and CCM pending. My approach combines critical thinking, patient safety/advocacy, utilization and bed management expertise (including InterQual/MCG), and hands-on coordination across post-acute care, hospice/palliative needs, and home care planning.
