At EMDP LIMITED, I work on environmental tenders in the Maltese islands, from assessing contract requirements and preparing BOQs to coordinating equipment and personnel for delivery. My work has included water quality monitoring, macro litter monitoring, and drone-based aerial habitat mapping.
At UNIVERSIDAD CATOLICA DE VALENCIA, I co-lead laboratory work processing Octopus vulgaris to determine reproductive stages and inform seasonal fisheries bans. I also lead a team of five researchers studying microplastics in octopus as a potential bioindicator.
For the EU co-financed RemediOS project at CSIC - CENTRO SUPERIOR DE INVESTIGACIONES CIENTÍFICAS, I analysed and attempted the reproduction of Ostrea edulis for habitat restoration in the Mar Menor. My laboratory work included maintaining micro-algae cultures and supporting oyster culture and brood-stock monitoring.
My marine field experience also includes collecting bycatch data aboard CAP PRIM II and scuba diving for data collection for projectLifePinnarca. I presented the seasonal ban project at the EU-conexus conference in Rostock and ISMS 2024.
