What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role in forensic settings or health-policy focused work where I can apply trauma-informed practice, risk assessment, and support for autistic and complex needs—while developing toward clinical psychology and policy impact.

I’m currently an occupational therapist assistant at a low secure forensic mental health hospital that caters for men with personality disorder, detained under the Mental Health Act or criminal section. I work within a trauma-informed approach and apply risk assessment awareness as a core part of how I support individuals day to day.

My background spans both education and healthcare. Previously, I worked as an autistic adult support worker, building insight into the complex needs of individuals with Autism and learning disability, and I also taught a semester in Thailand (Chonburi) as an English teacher under Mediakids academy.

Alongside that, I’ve supported students in secondary schools through roles including teaching assistant, cover supply, SEN tutor, and behaviour pastoral support in Nottingham and Derby. I also completed a course representative role, voicing the needs and desires of course mates to senior lecturers and the student’s union to help improve and enrich the student experience.

I completed my Forensic Mental Health MSc in July 2025, and I want my career to combine direct support with policy-level impact in forensic contexts. I aspire to work toward organisational or health policy consulting in forensics, and eventually become a practicing psychologist specialising in forensics and autistic mental health.
