What I'm looking for
I am a professor in Curriculum and Instruction with a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Social Foundations, committed to preparing entry-year elementary teachers and advancing research on educational equity.
I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses since 2009, developed online and face-to-face curricula, coordinated the Elementary Education program, advised students, and led accreditation reporting for CAEP and OEQA.
My research and scholarship center on ethnographic studies, oral histories (including Okinawan women), and the role of art and culture in alternative and K–8 education; I have published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and presented at national and international conferences.
I serve on multiple review and accreditation committees (Higher Learning Commission, CAEP, OEQA), have secured external grants for multicultural leadership, and consult in curriculum and professional development to advance diverse, research-informed teaching practices.
