Kazim Zaidi

I’m a Senior Backend Engineer and Principal Engineer with 18 years in e-commerce and AI integration, specializing in Ruby on Rails and GraphQL API development. At Jiffy.com, one of the largest online sellers of blank apparel, DTF transfers, and print-on-demand products in the US, I helped drive business-line launches that reached $86M in revenue.

I led the launch and scaling of initiatives like Group Orders and achieved a 50% increase in average order value through the system I architected and built for customers to place group orders. I also championed AI-augmented development practices across the team to boost systems productivity and accelerate delivery, while mentoring engineers through fast-paced production deployments.

On the engineering side, I set technical direction across the platform, print, and commerce and improved production reliability and performance across Rails application and PostgreSQL queries. I’ve worked with Redis-backed workflows, Sidekiq background jobs, and led a migration to GraphQL API to improve maintainability and documentation.

I enjoy collaborating across product, design, and distributed engineering teams, including asynchronous work with US-based teams across different time zones. Earlier in my career, I delivered Rails backends and iterated with Ember.js and Riot.js, and I’ve maintained an automation mindset—building systems that reduce manual work and enhance operational effectiveness.
