Kanchan Kumari

I’m a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology student at Army Institute of Technology, Pune, with a strong academic foundation (CGPA: 8.84/10). I’m drawn to building intelligent, user-friendly systems that solve real problems with thoughtful engineering.

In my projects, I combine real-time computer vision and on-device inference to make experiences smoother—most notably with SignSpeak, a real-time sign language recognition web application that translates gestures into text and speech. I designed a low-latency gesture recognition pipeline using computer vision and TensorFlow Lite, while keeping the interface intuitive and accessible.

I also build applied ML systems with practical workflows. For AI-Based Support Ticket Classification & Routing, I trained supervised models for ticket priority/urgency using NLP, and implemented RESTful APIs (FastAPI) to route tickets to the right teams. For JobConnect, I developed a full-stack job portal with role-based authentication, dashboards, and database-backed management of users, job listings, and applications.

Beyond engineering, I enjoy leading and collaborating. As Secretary, Cultural Board, I coordinated with 15+ student clubs and helped deliver campus events with 500+ participants, handling sponsorship coordination and logistics. I’m also an NSS member and have contributed to community initiatives, including organizing a 7-day awareness camp focused on education and hygiene. I’ve been recognized through opportunities like the BNY Career Catalyst Program (Mentee) and national-level hackathon achievements.
