Juan Camilo Osorio Oviedo

I am an Applied Mathematics MSc and Civil Engineer, with teaching experience at Universidad Nacional de Colombia and research work in Machine Learning methods applied to structural reliability.
My MSc research focuses on an adaptive Bayesian Support Vector Regression proposal. In this project, I have worked with Python, data preparation, model training and validation, Bayesian optimization, benchmark comparison, and result documentation. I am interested in the intersection of science, mathematical modeling, statistics, programming, and uncertainty.
I have also worked as a lecturer and academic tutor in courses such as Statistics, Differential Equations, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Solid Mechanics, and Computer Programming. This experience has helped me explain technical problems clearly, design learning materials, and communicate results to people with different technical backgrounds.
I mainly work with Python, Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, R, Git, Linux, Jupyter, and LaTeX. I am currently strengthening SQL, data visualization, and automation with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, PySpark, and n8n through small reproducible projects.
I am looking for opportunities in Data Science, Machine Learning, Analytics, Business Intelligence, applied research, or quantitative roles where I can combine modeling, statistics, programming, scientific thinking, and technical communication.
