Jonny Firth

I've led risk governance, operational risk, and internal audit across HSBC Global Markets, Global Private Banking, and Asset Management. Most recently, I served as Global Risk Lead for HSBC's IBOR Transition Programme, following leadership roles as Global Head of Risk Governance and Global Head of Operational Risk for Global Markets.

I establish governance forums, strengthen control environments, and turn complex regulatory requirements into practical, forward-looking solutions. My work has included addressing Fed Consent Order actions, embedding a Lessons Learned framework, supporting the Global Markets Conduct Programme, and providing independent challenge to senior global leadership. As an ICAEW-qualified chartered accountant, I also build high-performing teams through mentorship, collaboration, and a focus on mental health and well-being.
